About the job
An Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for conceiving, developing, and overseeing the design of electrical systems tailored to specific applications. The role involves ensuring that these systems meet regulatory standards, performance requirements, and sustainability goals. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential to delivering high-quality and effective solutions.
The ideal candidate should exhibit high standards in communication to partners and clients being an ambassador of Power 4 All. With a strong ability to initiate and deliver committed tasks ensuring utmost success in this multifaceted role.
Job responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Develop electrical designs using CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent).
- Apply engineering solutions and methods to design electrical systems such as interior/exterior lighting, low voltage power distribution, wiring installations, telecommunications, fire detection, alarms, and security systems.
- Ensure compliance with local and international codes, standards, and regulations.
Analysis & Problem-Solving
- Conduct in-depth simulations, testing, and failure analyses for electrical designs and customized client requests.
- Provide technical solutions for complex electrical issues, including SPS, multi-switching frequency products, and UPS systems.
- Perform circuit design, analysis, and testing of active and passive components, in line with standard principles and best practices.
Value Engineering & Innovation
- Initiate and support Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects to enhance design efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Contribute to design quality improvements and innovative solutions to optimize project performance.
- Prepare, review, and maintain all technical documentation, drawings, design reports, and calculation sheets.
- Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with Arcadis and project-specific requirements.
Bill of Quantities (BOQ) & Costing
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ), including material take-offs, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with procurement and project teams to align BOQ with design requirements and budgets.
- Monitor and update BOQ during project lifecycle to reflect design changes, material adjustments, and cost variations.
Project Support
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, and environmental engineers) in integrated project delivery.
- Support project planning, tendering, and execution phases by providing technical inputs and design documentation.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify design implementation and resolve technical issues.
Whom we need for a high-performance team
- Candidate must be a graduate of BS Electrical Engineering.
- Licensure in Electrical Engineering is an advantage.
- Experience in HV and MV design.
- Preferably with experience in Construction Management.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Can do basic cost estimates monitoring, knowledgeable in documentations, reports and methodologies.
- Background with Water and Wastewater Electrical design works is an advantage.
- Proficient in programming and planning software.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and mentor construction staff.
- Strong technical skills, with experience in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Strong analytical problems-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address project issues.
