Process Improvement Works for Julian Modular Treatment Plant

The Julian Modular Treatment Plant, situated within the Maynilad Patindig Araw pumping station in Cavite, was constructed in 2022 in order to augment water supply to help address water supply shortage caused by increasing demand, limitations of current water supply systems and effects of climate change.

A second phase of the project will introduce process improvement works in order to optimize operations and ensure stable production despite changes in seasons and high variability of the river water source quality.

The process improvement for the Julian Modular Treatment Plant involves the integration of a new pre-treatment system and a sludge treatment facility as well as an upgrade of the filtration process.

After completion within the first half of 2025, the Julian Modular Treatment Plant will be capable of addressing higher turbidity levels during rain events and increasing level of contaminants to include oil, grease and organics.
