Free charging station in the aftermath of typhoon Ompong

Meralco’s corporate social development arm, One Meralco Foundation (OMF), provided a means for residents in Cagayan Province to charge their cellular phones and other devices in the aftermath of Typhoon Ompong (Mangkhut), which toppled power lines and cut off power supply in some parts of the province and other areas in northern Luzon.

OMF partnered with POWER 4 ALL and TV5’s Alagang Kapatid Foundation to set up a “Libreng Charging” (Free Charging) station alongside the latter’s first responder food truck, which served hot meals to residents displaced by the typhoon.  The "Libreng Charging" station was powered by a Mission Solar Power Station.

In addition to this, over athousand relief packages from OMF were distributed to typhoon victims in barangays San Carlos, T. Elizalde and Mabuno in the municipality of Gattaran, one of the worst hit by Ompong.
