Pasig City, September 2024 – Power 4 All Inc. is committed to environmental responsibility and is taking proactive steps to ensure sustainable operations. The company recently made a strategic training investment in the professional growth of two key team members, Jakeson G. Quiatchon (Sr. HR and Stakeholder Engagement) and Joel Bon Bercasio (Sr. EHS Supervisor), who completed the Basic Training Course for Pollution Control Officers (PCO) held from September 9 to 13, 2024 at the Kimberly Hotel.
The training was conducted by the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines (PCAPI) Region IV-A Chapter, Inc., a leading non-profit organization dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability. PCAPI Region IV-A is a key partner of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources—Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) and is recognized for its environmental training and education expertise.
The PCO training was led by a team of well-rounded and experienced professionals from Laguna Lake Development Administration (LLDA) and DENR, including Ms. Graziel San Luis, Atty. Ayagil De la Cruz - Attorney III/OIC, Legal Section, Engr. Karmela Inna Mae Medrano, Mr. Chino Ocampo, Ms. Brefelin Robles - PCAPI Region 4A Chapter President, Corazon C. Gasapos - SUPVG. EMS / Chief, Solid Waste Management Section, Engr. Marissa Malabana -Engineer IV/ OIC, Chemical & Hazardous Waste Permit Section/Chemical and Hazardous Waste Monitoring Section, Engr. George Volante, and the dynamic trainer and former PCAPI President 2017-2021, Rasmiah Malixi.
Nearly 70 participants, representing LGU personnel (Bataan, Boracay, Isabela, Cebu, Basco Batanes, etc.), private companies from different sectors, and individuals in the Philippines, benefited from this intensive five-day training.
The training equipped the participants with crucial knowledge and skills to effectively manage environmental compliance, covering a wide range of topics:
Participants gained a thorough understanding of Philippine Environmental Laws and Regulations, including the PD 1586: The Philippine Environmental Impact Statement System (PEISS), RA 8749: Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999, RA 9275: Philippine Clean Water Act of 1999, RA 9003: Ecological Solid Waste Management of 2000, and the RA 6969: Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Waste Control Act, and LLDA Environmental Regulations and Policy Updates.
The PCO training provided insights into various pollution control technologies and best practices for minimizing environmental impact.
Participants learned effective waste management strategies, including proper disposal, recycling, and resource recovery.
The training encompassed the principles and techniques of environmental monitoring and auditing to ensure regulatory compliance.
Power 4 All is taking concrete steps to embed sustainability into its operations. Building on the training's principles, the company is implementing a comprehensive environmental management system.
