The operations centers from different towns were provided with Mission 1200 portable power station sets by the provincial government through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, which started in the month of July 2023 as prepositioning of the operations centers.
The said solar set units are reserved for all Municipal DRRM Offices in Palawan: Roxas, Aborlan, Rizal, Narra, Bataraza, Brooke's Point, Busuanga, Culion, Linapacan, Araceli, Kalayaan, El Nido, San Vicente, Coron, Sofronio Española, Quezon, and Dumaran. There are a few MDRRM offices in other municipalities.
The journey began with thorough research and development efforts to create innovative and efficient energy solutions. The team explored a variety of technologies, from advanced portable power stations to advanced solar panels. The goal was not just to generate power but to design systems that could be easily implemented in diverse environments, from bustling urban areas to remote villages.
Also, among those granted are a few barangays in recognition of their unique dedication when it comes to DRRM-Listong Barangay, which includes Brgy. Inogbong, Brgy. Culandanum and Brgy. Rio Tuba of Bataraza, Brgy. Tereza and Brgy. Elvita of Narra, Palawan.
The unit is to be distributed to all Operations Centers of Palawan Rescue in different municipalities to make them ready in the event of a power interruption during the response period and ensure their 24/7 operation, as part of the goal of a Listed, Stable, and Secure Palawan.
This Mission power station will strengthen the response programs for natural and man-made calamities. These portable systems allow the PDRRMO to go further, deploy faster, and power more.
