In a significant step toward securing a reliable and sustainable water supply, the Municipality of El Nido has inaugurated a modern modular water treatment plant, designed and built by POWER 4 ALL, a pioneer in modular technologies and a leading innovator in clean power and clean water solutions.
The new facility is part of El Nido’s ongoing efforts to address water shortages in the municipality, a popular tourist destination renowned for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and breathtaking landscapes. With tourism continuing to grow, the demand for safe and potable water has increased, making this project a timely and critical investment for both residents and visitors.
The facility taps into the local freshwater source at Bulalacao Falls, with the capacity to deliver up to 3 million liters of potable water per day. The modular water treatment plant promises consistent performance despite source water variability and a minimal environmental footprint. The modular design also allows for simpler operation and maintenance and lower total lifecycle cost compared to conventional systems.
The project, which was fast-tracked and completed in under nine months, showcases the potential of modern modular technologies in addressing critical infrastructure needs in rapidly developing areas. With this new facility, El Nido sets a benchmark for sustainable water management in the region.
Mayor Edna Gacot-Lim highlighted the project’s role in supporting sustainable development, ensuring reliable water access for households and businesses, and environmental protection. Meanwhile, representatives from POWER 4 ALL and Water and Environment Subsidiary Earth Lab reaffirmed their commitment to delivering modern, eco-friendly water solutions across high-growth and underserved communities in the Philippines.
